Air Defence is responsible for safeguarding the skies of Singapore. We protect Singapore against airborne threats and assert the sovereignty of Singapore’s air space. We operate different sensor and shooter systems to track and take down hostile aircraft.

The Armoured Regiment is a key element in determining the outcome of modern land battles. We provide mobile firepower support and rapid mobility for the Army using state-of-the-art platforms such as the Leopard 2SG, Bionix II, and Bronco.

The Artillery formation plays a crucial role on the battlefield by harnessing the SAF’s precision fires systems to neutralise enemy forces through coordinated strikes. We also operate advanced radar to detect and locate targets, and relay this information to the command post controlling the delivery of fire.

Combat Engineers specialise in the use of explosives and machinery to construct or overcome obstacles. We ensure our troops have fast and safe passage while restricting the enemy’s freedom of movement. We also help to overcome any chemical, biological, radiological, and explosives threats.

The Guards are an elite formation with specialised warfighting competencies. We are highly mobile, and proficient in heliborne, underslung, and amphibious operations. These capabilities allow for the rapid deployment of troops and equipment.

The Infantry is the largest fighting force in the Army. We fight with state-of-the-art equipment in a highly integrated and networked environment, and operate under all weather conditions, across all terrain profiles, day and night. We also engage in Urban Operations and Close Quarter Battle.

The Intelligence formation is the “eyes and ears” of the SAF. We provide early warnings for the SAF to counteract threats and win the information battle.

Security Troopers protect key military and civilian installations around Singapore. We serve as the first line of defence to deter, detect, and deny security threats. We provide deterrence by performing round-the-clock surveillance, and are part of a quick response force that reacts swiftly to emergencies.

The Logistics formation plans, commands, and provides logistics support to the SAF. We play an important role in ensuring logistics support is readily available for all SAF missions, so that other formations can concentrate on their mission objectives.

The Maintenance and Engineering Support formation ensures the readiness of a wide range of SAF platforms. We give combatants the confidence that their equipment will support them in meeting their operational objectives.

Medics are among the first responders in the field to ensure a soldier’s survival. We play a critical role in providing medical aid in local operations (e.g. National Day Parade) and ensuring patients receive the best medical care at all times.

The SAF Military Police perform policing duties and uphold the disciplinary standards of the SAF. We are involved in various kinds of policing and security operations, such as enforcing discipline within our camps, securing key military installations, participating in ceremonial duties, and rehabilitating detainees.

Naval Operations play a crucial role in the maritime defence of our nation. We support 24/7 maritime operations and ensure the security of our naval bases.

Signallers are the communication and network experts of our digitised force. We support our integrated fighting systems by operating various Command and Control, Communications and Computers (C4) systems for effective command and control on the battlefield.

The Transport formation plans, commands, and provides transport services and support to the SAF. We manoeuvre military and heavy vehicles through all terrains in air, land, and sea operations. We play an essential role in ensuring troops and equipment get to where they need to be to support SAF missions.

Fire and rescue is one of the key operational roles performed by SCDF. We conduct fire-fighting and rescue operations; and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) mitigation to protect and save lives and property.

Emergency medical services providing pre-hospital care and conveyance is a critical element of the services provided by SCDF. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) play a crucial role as one of the first responders to pre-hospital patients in need of care during emergency ambulance calls, ensuring that patients receive quality medical care at all times.

SPF Neighbourhood, Community Engagement and Special Operations prevent, detect and deter crime to ensure the security of our country. We maintain peace and order, respond to incidents, and work together with the public, to keep you and your loved ones safe from harm.

SPF Transport, Coastal, and Protective Security Operations protect what matters most to our nation’s sovereignty. We ensure the safety of Singapore’s transport networks, keep watch over key installations, and protect our territorial waters from intrusion.
